When your child knows the colors and the alphabet song, you are ready! If your child is busy, bouncy, and giggly, then we will learn to play the piano. Fun gets it done! Does your child like technology? We play in a preschool style and fun music learning apps are a part of the experience. A 3 year old does not need to sit still at the piano for long when there are so many ways to learn piano. 5 year olds generally are ready for a more traditional approach. I love to focus on reading and "school" skills that children are exposed to in the elementary classrooms. |

Meet Miss Kerry...I have multiple degrees with over 12 years of teaching experience, including classroom teaching. I offer a private setting for non-traditional piano learning for students up to age 8. I also teach parents and adults separate from their children using Alfred's Premier Express method books.
I have studied under the late J.J. Hancock, former Concertmaster of the Wichita Symphony Orchestra, Evgeny Zvonnikov, Associate Concertmaster of the Wichita Symphony Orchestra, and John Goering, Assistant Professor of Musicology and Jazz Studies at Wichita State University. I take students as young as 3 years old. I am a mom, I have been a Suzuki mom for violin, and I am a firm believer in low stress music education begun early. I teach preparatory for advanced piano and preparation for a second instrument. Most of my students will learn move on from beginning piano to a middle school band instrument. I build a relationship with your child built on praise and fun. Your child will find they love to perform and show off their talents. Would you like to see what your child can learn? I am a classroom teacher during the school year with USD 480. I take students as early as age 3 if they are ready. I take students up to age 8. If your child is older, I can assist in a referral.
